In many people there is a holy dissatisfaction of where they are at.

Whatever we have, there is a feeling that, there should be something more, but this something more is ever elusive to us.

We work hard thinking if I make enough money, then I will be satisfied.

Some think, finding the right partner will fill the void in my life, or if I have the right job then I will be satisfied.

No matter how hard we try, there always seems in the end, that I have missed it.

I think one of the reasons for this is found in the bible. In Ecclesiastes 3:11 it says “He has made everything beautiful in its time.

He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

You see, true satisfaction can only come when we have a relationship with our maker, the one who set eternity into our hearts.

We are eternal beings and we can only be truly satisfied when we have relationship with the eternal God which is found through Jesus Christ.

When we lived in India, we had a very poor woman working for us.

Her husband was addicted to drugs and in that state would abuse her, but she discovered that there is a God, Jesus Christ who loved her and cared for her and had gone to the cross to die for her sin.

She accepted him and what he had done for her and it changed her life.

In her own words she says “I count myself as very rich now.”

Until we meet with Jesus we will never be satisfied completely.

For sure there are things that can make us happy for a season but lasting peace is only possible through Him.
