The Bordertown Over 50’s Club had a most enjoyable day on April 12.

Talented country music singer Bev Branson entertained members with a lovely variety of songs.

She included two songs she had written herself, Great Grandma Hanging on the Wall, the story of visiting her great grandma as a child and Country Fire Volunteers.

Bev’s son is also a singer songwriter and she performed a modified version of his song, Country Sound, so it was more suitable for the older generation.

Other songs included Before the Next Teardrop Falls, Coat of Many Colours, Could I Have This Dance, Seven Year Itch (John Williamson), Rose and Rodeo, The House Down Willow Lane (Reg Lindsay), Good Morning Australia (Keith Jamison).

Bev finished with Nobody’s Child, a heart touching song about a blind child at an orphanage.

A lovely afternoon tea was served to finish off the day.

The next Over 50’s day will be held at 1.30pm on May 10.

Members will be entertained by local performers with Rosemary Gerhardy as the guest artist.
