The principle of serving others is a virtue that goes a long way to revealing the true nature of a person.

Unfortunately it’s not very common today.

The only person that truly stands out throughout history is Jesus Christ the Almighty God and Creator of all life.

He was born in a cow shed, in a little known town called Bethlehem, son of a humble uneducated carpenter, grew up in the small town of Nazareth and spent his life serving the needs of others.

The washing of the 12 Disciples feet stands out as a demonstration of his humility and serving approach to life.

But the greatest act of humility, self sacrifice and servitude was to sacrifice his life on a cross so that all who were to believe in him could have the free gift of eternal life.

Sadly our society has lost the serving principle which we see in so many places today.

For example, we have been asked for our vote to elect leaders of our Country, but not all wish to serve the needs of the people or Nation as they should.

Big supermarkets only seem interested in massive profits. In fact the good values that built us to be a great Country have slowly been eroded to the point that we observe a Nation falling apart at the seams. In the

book of Psalms it says “Blessed is the Nation whose God is the Lord.”

Of course the opposite applies when a Nation turns it’s back on God, as we observed when Australia voted to accept same sex marriage in preference to the long recognized way of having Gods blessing on the union of a male and female.

While Australia faces bleak times ahead, a light at the end of the tunnel always remains.

A return to our original roots of Christian heritage is the only answer.
