Penola Netball Club claimed its fourth consecutive win in Round 7 of Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara netball on Saturday.

The Eagles got off to a flying start as they scored 22 goals in the first quarter.

Penola’s dominance continued in the second quarter as the Eagles ran rampant in attack.

Penola went into the main break with a 41-17 lead.

Tess Porter entered the game in the third quarter but picked up an ankle injury late in the game.

The third quarter was a scrappy contest and errors were prominent from both sides.

At the end of the quarter, Penola had extended its lead to 28 goals.

The Eagles withstood the late downpour of rain to run away with a 34-goal win.

Victoria Henderson returned from injury and put in a strong performance in the mid-court and created numerous opportunities for the Penola goalies.

April Possingham was lethal yet again in the circle as she scored 60 goals from 66 attempts.

Ashley Earl supported Possingham in attack with 13 goals from 17 attempts.

Possingham and Henderson were Penola’s best player again after strong performances from both.

The Eagles will be out of action until June 25, as there are no rounds of competition this weekend due to the National Championships and a bye in Round 8.

Penola will return to the court when it takes on Mundulla in Round 9 of Kowree Naracoorte Tatiara netball.
