AS the Mid South East football season headed into its second half on Saturday, Kalangadoo made a statement to the rest of the teams.

After a slow burn to start the season, the Magpies have hit their straps and are on a winning roll.

The latest to suffer the wrath of the Magpies was Port MacDonnell, who succumbed to a focused second half of football, after leading by 15 points at the main break.

Kalangadoo led by four points at the first break, but a five-goal second term to the Demons soon changed that.

It appeared the match-of-the-round would live up to expectations, but the Magpies soon regrouped at the main break and came out firing in the third term.

They banged on eight major scores, while holding the Demons to just two, but there was more to come.

The final stanza was simply an assault, as the Magpies held a 20-point advantage and ran rampant to push home their point.

Eleven goals and just three behinds did the damage, as the Demons were only able to add one major score for the term.

The final result saw an 87-point victory, with the goals shared around for the victors.

Dylan Bromley was the recipient of some good delivery inside 50, finishing the day with eight goals.

Lachy Jones chipped in with three goals, Connor Gentile four, Ben Mules three and Kye McKenna two.

Christian Howlett and Alex Ridding kicked four each for the Demons, while Colby Munro chipped in with two.

The result pushed the Magpies up into the top four, five percentage points clear of the Demons in fifth.
