Millicent Lions Club continue to support those who are struggling with the cost of living crisis through the Millicent Shares a Plate (MSAP) free meal initiative.

The club pays for the food containers used by MSAP throughout the year and members are on the cooking roster.

They recently cooked their second meal for this year which was 70 serves of sausages, carrots and mixed vegetables.

Lions member John Drew said costs were borne on this occasion by the Lions Club of Millicent, but the club acknowledged support from Foodbank and Millicent businesses.

“We especially appreciate the organisation of this generous weekly production of food by volunteers of the Millicent Shares a Plate group,” he said.

Meals are distributed each Thursday from the RSL Hall, ac.care community centre with the remainder placed in the IGA supermarket refrigerator.
