The Limestone Coast Wine area performed extremely well at the recent Royal Sydney Wine show with gold medals being awarded to Coonawarra Jack and Yalumba wineries.
A 2018 Jack Estate Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded gold. with a score of 97 points.
Coonawarra Yalumba’s 2018 and 2019 The Cigar Cabernet Sauvignon also took out gold medals.
Coonawarra Jack senior Winemaker Conrad Slabber said he was pretty happy with the results.
“It is always good to win a medal and it is a credit to all the staff,“ he said.
Not only did South Australia take home 13 trophies but also claimed 22 gold medals.
The 2019 wines will be bottled soon and entered in upcoming wine shows in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
Mr Slabber said the winery tried to enter in the Limestone Coast, Royal Melbourne, Royal Sydney and Royal Adelaide wine shows.
