Penola Football Club make the long trip to Keith on Saturday for the third round of the Kowree Naracoorte Football League.

The game is expected to be a close contest as the Eagles enter the game off the back of a triumphant win in Round 2 over Naracoorte.

Keith lost their first two games, but Penola coach Brad Maney expects a strong performance from the Crows on Saturday.

“They’re an exceptional football team, I don’t look into their results at all,” Maney said.

“If anything, we probably go into the game as underdogs again.

“Keith is one of our largest travel days and it’s quite a skinny oval so we will have to adjust.

“The great thing about having a young group is that they are naïve in some ways and we will just relish the opportunity and see what happens.”

Maney is under no illusions of the talent pool that Keith has at its disposal heading into their Round 3 clash.

“They’ve got a fantastic forward in Lewis Hender, a local who’s had a tremendous SANFL career,” Maney said.

“George Thring’s a good coach, they’ve been consistently up the top since he took the role.”

Penola enter the game without Anders McShane while Luke Walker is a doubt after he sustained a hamstring injury late in the game against Naracoorte.

The Crows will look to Seb Schreiber as they look to claim their first victory of the season.

Schreiber claimed best on ground in the first two games for Keith this season.

The Eagles will hope that their momentum from their win over Naracoorte carries through to Round 3 in what will be a tightly-contested matchup.
